"I was surprised by how warm it is for its weight"

This good-looking mid-layer pull over from Stoney Creek has been on quite a few trips with me over the past year and has become a mainstay in my hunting gear.

I wasn’t sure how it would perform at first, and like the other items I’m given to try, I tend not to research them beforehand. This way, my view of the product is unbiased and purely my own opinion.

I was surprised by how warm it is for its weight. It’s incredibly light, and I’ve been wearing it with just a light t-shirt underneath, even in winter. It’s also quite stretchy and very comfortable to
wear.

When bush hunting, which I do most of the year, I find that having a few good light layers is better than relying on one heavy outer layer. This allows you to regulate heat by shedding layers easily.

Another surprising feature is how well it performs in wet bush. Now, I’m not saying to wear it in the rain, that would be silly, but I have worn it on drizzly days and after heavy downpours and found it to be
excellent. It must be the CO DWR water repellency, it works really well and dries quickly.

The sizing is great, and overall, I can’t say anything bad about this mid-layer. In fact, I’ve bought the hooded version in the Tundra color for when I’m in tussock country to blend in.
