Browning Spec Ops Elite HP5 Ultra — 46MP Trail Camera

The best just got better — Browning's 2026 flagship trail camera delivers nearly double the resolution, upgraded 1440p video, and industry-leading night vision. Rated one of the best trail cameras on the market.

Whether you're scouting red deer on a remote Kaimanawa block, running a predator free programme on your land, or keeping watch on a remote property — the Spec Ops Elite HP5 Ultra gives you 46MP crystal-clear images and stunning 1440p video at 60fps. Day or night, nothing moves without you knowing about it.

At a Glance

  • 46MP photos — nearly double the resolution of the previous model
  • 1440p Full HD video @ 60fps with sound
  • 0.1–0.7 second adjustable trigger speed
  • RADIANT 5 invisible Black Flash night vision, 100ft range
  • IP66 weatherproof — built for NZ conditions
  • Industry-leading battery life on just 8 × AA batteries

Why This Works for NZ Conditions

NZ bush is unforgiving — dense scrub, steep terrain, and unpredictable weather. The HP5 Ultra's IP66 weatherproof rating handles whatever gets thrown at it, from a West Coast downpour to a frosty Mackenzie Basin morning. The adjustable trigger speed (down to 0.1 seconds) is fast enough to catch a sika stag slipping through a beech gap, and the invisible Black Flash means deer, pigs, and possums have no idea they're being watched.

At 46MP, you're getting photo quality that holds up when you zoom in on antler points or check whether that pig is worth the trip in. The 1440p video at 60fps is smooth enough to actually see what's happening — not just a blurry shape in the dark. For predator free monitoring, the long battery life and 512GB SD card support mean you can leave it running for months without a site visit.

New 2026 model — upgraded from 24MP / 1080p to 46MP / 1440p. If you ran the previous HP5, this is a significant step up.

FAQ

What's the difference between this and the previous Spec Ops Elite HP5?
The Ultra bumps photos from 24MP to 46MP and video from 1080p to 1440p @ 60fps. Same rugged build, same battery and SD card compatibility — just a meaningful upgrade in image and video quality.

Why is nighttime video limited to 20 seconds?
To protect battery life. Running IR LEDs continuously drains batteries fast — the 20-second cap keeps your camera running for months rather than days.

Can I use it for pest control and predator free work?
Absolutely. The 512GB SD card support and long battery life make it ideal for long-term monitoring over trap lines and bait stations. Date, time, temperature, and moon phase stamps on every image make building a pest management record straightforward.
